Big Data and artificial intelligence have entered our lives in a disruptive manner. Today, we speak of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, but how does it affect different industrial sectors? In what ways can innovation be achieved through these new tools? Within our economy, there are key sectors of critical importance. Therefore, we aim to evaluate, between April and June 2025, the level of knowledge and the type of organizational adaptation (processes, structure, technology, and competencies) required for the adoption of Big Data in medical supplies marketing companies in Pergamino, in order to guide management decisions within the framework of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This research is descriptive in scope, with a qualitative approach and a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. A semi-structured questionnaire was used. The sample was non-probabilistic and intentional, composed of senior executives from pharmacies, drugstores, and orthopedic supply businesses. After a thorough analysis of the responses obtained, it became clear that participants recognize both the need for and the benefits of adopting Big Data and artificial intelligence for management innovation. However, there is still no significant structural implementation. Participants acknowledge improvements in decision-making, inventory management, and operational efficiency when these tools are applied. Similar results have been observed in studies conducted in other cities, as referenced in the introduction. Nevertheless, a major barrier remains: the lack of training and knowledge on the subject. Based on the findings of this research, it is time to take action, drive structural change, and adapt organizations to the new Industrial Revolution, seizing opportunities to enhance competitiveness.
