Access to water in Argentina is a topic of legal interest that is regulated by law. In Argentina, access to drinking water is a human right recognized and protected by the National Constitution and by specific laws. In addition, there are provincial and municipal regulations that complement national legislation and establish specific regulations for access to water in each jurisdiction. These regulations typically address issues such as water quality, the provision of drinking water and sanitation services, and the protection of water sources, and ensure equitable access to water for all inhabitants. The Argentine justice system is empowered to intervene in cases in which the rights of access to water are violated, guaranteeing the right of all citizens to have drinking water under conditions of equality and equity. In some provinces, access to drinking water is not guaranteed in the same way as in the others, and access is usually more precarious, but the State is working to ensure that in all provinces and localities it is the same for all inhabitants.
