dc.description.abstractDesign of a Game Book with Pedagogical Functions for Children. (4 to 6 year-olds) In order to prepare this Final Graduate Work, Graphic Design was used as a tool which will allow the transmission of emotions, sensations, and ideas through a game book. It is so called because, thanks to the possibilities of interaction and manipulation offered by this type of object book, play activities are suggested which are suitable for children and which foster the learning process and create a close connection to the reading activity through a game. Thus, it collaborates with education since it keeps the receptor active and partaking thanks to the didactically built content which allows the student to acquire the proposed item of knowledge, apart from contributing to peer interaction and student-teacher interaction. The central idea of this work is to offer a didactic-pedagogical tool which makes it possible to link entertainment, play and learning, making it enjoyable and fun. As the child reads the story, he performs the activities suggested and he can learn to count. In order to make this game book, some educational, pedagogical and didactic concepts were taken into account as well as the developmental stage of the children for whom this game book was devised. Some learning guidelines, motivation and the concept of play were also considered. As a complement, Gestalt principles and laws were used as well as perception and perceptual development. For the design area, the basic elements of graphic design were included, namely: image, shape, typography, color, connotation and denotation. The concept and examples of object books and the differences with the traditional book were also analyzed. Finally, the paper type and paper engineering were part of the previous work as well. According to the research and implementation carried out, we conclude that the different materials, textures, colors and shapes used motivate children to explore and put into evidence their perceptual development. Play and motivation can stimulate children's thoughts, feelings and perception and the use of saturated bright colors as well as the simple images catch their attention. As children feel self assured and captivated by the story, they are able to follow the activities smoothly and to acquire the concepts the book focuses in.
