This paper examines the internationalization process of Argentine family businesses, focusing on the case of the Techint Group. Its objective is to analyze their strategies, development stages, and socioeconomic impact. Through a case study based on the analysis of secondary sources, the study reveals how factors intrinsic to the family's nature, such as social and relational capital, multigenerational leadership, and a long-term vision, act as distinctive competitive advantages. The findings showed that Techint evolved from an initial gradual expansion, consistent with Uppsala models, to accelerated internationalization through strategic acquisitions and sophisticated organizational, tax, and financial management. The company demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of complex environments and a capacity to invest in technology and geographic and sectoral diversification, challenging the notion of risk aversion commonly attributed to family businesses. The study concludes that the Techint case is not only a benchmark of global success, but also offers valuable implications for internationalization theory and management practice in other family businesses, as well as for the design of public policies that foster their transnational expansion.
